Gautam Adani, an industrialist met the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday and made an announcement on a major investment of Rs. 65,000 crore for the state's energy and cement industries. This investment is aimed at expanding the Adani Group's energy and cement projects which is expected to increase the significant growth in that region. This meeting took place at the official residence of the Chief Minister in Raipur.
During this meeting, Adani outlined some plans to invest Rs 60,000 crore for expanding the Group's power plants in Raigarh, Korba, and Raipur. This expansion will increase additional power generation capacity by 6,120 MW. Furthermore, Adani committed the remaining Rs 5000 crore for developing and expanding the Group's cement plans in the state, which aims to enhance cement manufacturing capabilities.
In addition to the energy and cement projects, Gautam Adani assured the investment to the state government of Rs 10,000 crore for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the next four years. These initiatives will help in focusing on sectors like education, tourism, healthcare, and skill development that are expected to benefit under Adani's foundation's support.
The meeting also discovered potential collaborations in manufacturing equipment that are related to defense and establishing data centers like the Global Capability Centre in Chhattisgarh. This diversified approach is aimed to enhance the state's development further across multiple sectors.
Therefore, the total planned investment by the Adani Group in Chhattisgarh for the CSR, energy, cement, and other sectors is expected to reach around Rs 75000 which creates new opportunities for jobs and increases economic growth in the state. This announcement has been seen as a significant step towards the continued development of Chhattisgarh.
